Splitwise export instructionsIn SplitBuds, open Groups → Import from Splitwise. Choose the CSV, name the group, and select your own column. Match each other column to a contact or create a person by name.
Check the balances separately by currency. Review the suggested allocations and fill in any unresolved ones. Select Import group to create the ledger.
The sample includes two CAD expenses, a CAD settlement, and a JPY expense. After importing it, you should see these balances.
| Person | CAD | JPY |
|---|---|---|
| You | +44.00 | −500 |
| Maya | −8.00 | −500 |
| Sam | −36.00 | +1,000 |
Splitwise exports each person’s balance change. An expense’s total and net changes can leave part of the original payer and share amounts unknown. SplitBuds shows those amounts for review and preserves the exported balance changes.
Use a group CSV up to 1 MB and 1,000 transactions. Expense dates, descriptions, categories, currencies, and payment rows come from the file. Add receipts, comments, and recurring schedules separately. Import the same export again to find the existing group.
